Profile measurement and controlling Efficient and reliable management in the manufactoring process of the plastics industries involves higher demands to control- and monitoring systems. High accuracy and an extensive range of functions must be combined with an easy handling and a minimum of maintenance efforts. ACPro Systems are intelligent and communicative. The input of setpoints, process data and process parameters occurs via Touch screen or keyboard. The cross profile control happens via controlling the actuators (heating bolts, stepper motors, ...) and makes sure the equal distribution of the gramage in machine cross direction. In case that heating bolts are used as actuators and feedbacks of the actual temperature values are available, integrated temperature control loops are foreseen optionally. The control of the actuators works via an analogue output value or via digital output pulses (The length of the pulse correlates to the analogue value), discrete or via bus coupling. The scanned profile, the actuator-oriented measuring profile and the actuator output profile are shown on the main control monitor page of the CPC (cross profile control).
General information on the beams The measuring sensors are integrated in continously moving sledges of high-precision measuring frames. The measuring system built up by this sensor moving permanently across the web, allows a continious measurement of the relevant web parameters in machine- and cross direction. The incoming signals from the measurement-system are transfered to the process control system via IO-modules on a fibre optic bus or a Profibus. The frequency converters controlling the sledge movement, the signal converters for the sensors, the sensors power supply and the power supply for the IOs and limit switches of the crossbeam are built in a cabinet mounted on or close to the beam system. The measuring system operates applying bus systems of the latest technologies like fibre optic and Profibus and by this allows decentralized design and a high performance of the machine.
The infrared sensor All measuring frames are equipped with photo cells for detection of the web edge. The function of this photo cells is monitored and a breakdown of a cell is indicated as an alarm and also stored in the alarm list. The operator has the possibility to give fixed turning points and so an operation is also guaranteed without the photo cells. ![]() The new ACPro-Infrared sensor with CONESPLIT-Optic®* is applicable for a direct selective online-measurement for coatings on organic or polymer basis. Because of the parallel assembly of 6 optical-electronic channels, the spectral properties of the web are scanned simultaneously on the same spot (Same-Spot-Technique). hrough an application oriented selection of the measuring wavelength only the relevant ranges of the spectrum are used.
